[Archive] Faerie Woods

Faerie Woods sits on the northwestern part of the main continent of Bolos, nesting itself between the Barazir and Blackstone mountains. If one followed the river that flows into these mystical woods, they would eventually find themselves at the Middle Sea, just West of the Pharder Stronghold. The entirety of Faerie Woods' spans a radial distance of 40 miles (40 hexagons), as shown in the map above. Faerie Woods is home to a variety of creatures, and most importantly, a variety of quests and adventures.

There are three major locations that can be visited in Faerie Woods in addition to the many random encounters that can be found within its lushes.

1. Blackguard Camp
 - The Blackguard Camp of Faerie Woods is a small village-like establishment where Blackguard trainees spend their time fending off the likes of pixies and lesser wolves. When they aren't hunting or practicing a craft, they spend their time sparring against one another or selling their time in exchange for protection while wandering merchants pass through the woods. The Blackguard Agency is a continent-wide group devoted to the defense of the people of Bolos, and is generally friendly to all those citizens so long as they are not wanted criminals or imminent threats.

2. River's End
 - The River's End is the place where the water begins to dry up as the tall trees become small grasses and the dirt becomes sand. Faerie Woods connects directly to the beginning of the Deli Plateau, a place of dunes and immense stone structures. This particular area of the river is considered a watering hole open to the many creatures of the forest, but it can occasionally become a very hostile territorial battleground. It is usually woodland creatures fighting one another, or a pack of wolves attempting to eat a Pixie. Compared to the other places in the world, this isn't anything too special.

3. Pixie's Den
 - The Pixie's Den is full of those tiny, flying humanoid creatures. Pixies are well known for both their illusory dusts and their ability to annoy all of creation to death, sometimes literally. The pixies are often trapped, shaken like salt, and then set free in order for their dust to be used as a reagent. While Pixies generally won't harm travelers, coming close to their home can cause swarms of them to attack. Lately, these Pixies have been overly aggressive to both visitors of the forest and those who try to sneak a peek at their home.

4. The Woods

All of what Faerie Woods is and is named after. A place of tall trees where only the brightest of the Sun's rays shine through and create a mystical landscape within. All sorts of vegetation overgrows the dirt below, and if one looks closer, they'll notice that large mushrooms make the base of trees and the underside of large-leaved flora their home. Wolves wander the forest in packs, but one might be lucky enough to find a struggling Omega scavenging. Pixies wander and sometimes other creatures make their way through the forest, such as bears.
